The Room Has Been Painted

Over the last two days I have been working on the 9th and 10th grade Sunday school room, since I have had some time due to no youth group for the next two weeks! As you can see, I have put the base coat up on the walls and so now we have a green room. I am not sure when, but my wife and I are planning on going in sometime and painting the circles, squares and triangles on the walls in colors of blue, orange and a pinkish-red! I think this will tone down the brightness a little bit, but either way it looks awesome. I am excited to get this room done and ASAP because of what happened with the last room, i.e. the Casa Di Espresso. I am going to look this week at some furniture that we might be able to put in there. The furniture that is in there now, definitely has to go, since it is gross. As kind of an eye-popper for this room I was thinking about putting new carpet down. I was walking in Menard's the other day and saw these 2x2 pieces of carpet that have adhesive on the one side to stick down. I thought we could buy alternating colors and make a checker pattern on the floor! This would definitely make this room pop out and add a little something to it. Some future purchases I am thinking about include Plasma TV's, X-Box, X-Box 360, Playstation 2, Furniture, Air Hockey, Pool Table and decorations for the wall! I think we can make this room extremely awesome, but it all depends on how much money we want to put in it. I think we have the money available, we are just going to have to make a budget and stick with it. Let me know any opinions or ideas that you guys have about this room! I want to make sure we get enough opinions and minds together that it turns out awesome, but not too many that we don't know what to do :)! I think I am going to buy the furniture and would like to have it in the room no later than two weeks after Christmas. Thanks again for all that you do, I hope you have an awesome Christmas.

In God's Love,

Joel

Painting the Room
I just wanted to let you all know that we are ready to move foward with the 9th and 10th grade Sunday School room ASAP! I had one of our volunteer workers at the church puddy a lot of the holes and things so that it is prepped for painting. Whenever he is here and Norm can't find anything for him to do I am going to have him work on the room. Next, I am going to have him tape the walls and get ready to paint. As soon as all this is done we are going to run to Menards and pick out our colors and make it happen. I am excited for this room to change because everytime I walk in there it just kind of makes me sad and depressed, not a feeling we want people to have coming in a church building. The furniture needs to go, but I figured I would wait till the room is painted and then better be able to pick out some neat sofas and such. We have th money and we need to make it happen, before the money gets taken away or used on something else. If anyone wants to help me look for furniture that would be awesome and I want to move on this within the next month so we can get rid of those old and nasty couches. After we get the room painted and furniture in we can sit down or blog about what we want to put in the room game wise because there are a lot of options. Let me list a few; Pool Table, Ping-Pong Table, Air Hockey, Video Games with TV's on the walls, Chess, Board Games and plenty of other things to give our teens something to do, as if they didn't have enough already :)! If you have any comments please respond in the blog. Thanks for all you. Have an awesome Christmas.

Well, I tried to post a picture to write under and it didn't work for like 5 consecutive times so you are just going to get writing this time. I was just going to ask everyone's opinion of the youth worker Christmas party. Should we do the same thing again next year? What would you change? Did you have fun?

Also, I wanted to let everyone know that I am planning a Youth Worker's Team Meeting on Jan. 7th at 7 PM in the Casa Di Espresson! I need as many people as possible to show up so we can work through a lot of things like The Beach Party, Spring Riot, March thru May planning, 9th and 10th Grade Sunday School Room and many more. I hope to see you all there and hopefully we can get a lot done in a short time period. Thanks for all that you guys do; have an awesome week.
