How is Table Ministry Going?

We are now heading into our 4th week of school-year Wednesdsay nights and finishing up our series on "Rescued From An Ordinary Life"! I have liked this series so much that I am using a majority of it in this Sunday's sermon from the pulpit (but you all still have to come LOL). How have your Table Ministry groups been going over the last three weeks? I've heard some good reports of teens opening up more and more as the weeks go by and have not really heard anything bad. I can't stress enough how blessed I feel to have such a good core group of volunteers to help out on Wednesdsay Nights. You guys are all awesome and I know God is using you and will use you to impact the lives of our teens here in FOCUS Factor Ministries. I am thinking sometime in late October doing the "Dinner with your Table Ministry" thing I talked about. This would give you seven weeks to get to know them and establish a fairly consistent small group. It would probably be the week right before Fall Fest here at the church. We do have a YWT meeting coming up next Tuesday Oct. 2nd and the Schible's house in fremont. I hope you are all having a great week and I look forward to seeing you again.

Our Wednesday Nights

We have officially had two school-year Wednesday Nights now and I think things are going pretty well. I was a little disappointed last week with the amount of teens that were there and both weeks we have been missing some key teens. It is hard to establish our Table Ministry Groups when teens that are "normally" there aren't there. We may be shifting around some groups as those teens to do show up because of age and other factors. For those of you that don't have a group yet, don't worry, they will come back! If you want you can join another group until your teens show up, so that you don't have to just sit there. I appreciate all of you who are helping out and taking time out of your schedules to be there. From what I have seen you are doing a great job and I am still very excited about this year. There are definitely a lot of new faces this year and so that is strange for me, but I think it is going to be great. I still want to find an efficient way to contact our visitors (maybe through a hand-written letter) so they feel welcomed and wanted.

The School Year Begins

I cannot believe it is already here again, but we start our Wednesday Night Programming tonight for FOCUS Factor Ministries! It is going to be a little different this year, like every year I suppose, but we lost three key players last year in Serenity, Haley and Brandon. I know God will raise up some other teens to fill those positions but it will be a little wierd for me tonight. If you see anyone whom you think is a potential student leader, let me know about it. I would like to start a teen leadership team AGAIN this year and see if we can get it up and running for more than a couple of months. I am super excited about tonight after yesterdays Youth Worker's Team meeting. Thank you so much to all that attended and for making it a priority in your life. I felt the excitement in the room over the potential of what God can do through us here at Fairview Missionary Church in the student ministry. I continue to pray for wisdom for all of us that we would make the right choices and be guided in His directions. I could do this without all of your help. Please show up a little early and stay a little late to hang with the teens tonight :)!
