Youth Workers Christmas Party
Hello everyone, I hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving! I wanted to post out about our upcoming Christmas Party on December 7th! It is less than two weeks away and will be two Fridays from now. We are going to meet in the youth area of the church on Friday Night from 7 till 9 PM! Your children are welcome to come and will just not participate in the gift exchange. Remmeber to bring a White Elephant "Gender Specific" gift under $10.00 wrapped and ready to go. We will have dinner provided and hopefully some time to play games as well. If you could please RSVP that would be easier for me to get food ready and prepared.
I am going to buy another Blu-Ray Disc for your children to watch in the game room while we are doing our gift exchange, but other than that we can all be together. I am excited for this night and look forward to it. If you have any questions please feel free to write me and ask. Thank you all so much for your hard work and efforts with the teens for this year so far. I thank God for all of your time and commitments to FOCUS Factor Ministries and maybe we can share some good stories of what is happening in our small groups next Friday night at the party. I'm unsure if anyone else noticed, but there seems to be something different in the bulletin, the likes of which I have not seen before. As I was skimming through the youth section, I noticed the fantasy football corner. I did a double take and though to myself, surely I had seen it wrong the first time, but no...there it was, plain as the bus on the face of Brad's mom which she calls a nose. I wiped my eyes clean and took another glare, and sure enough, Karolyn was number one for fantasy football. I stood there in disbelief thinking surely I could not have been the first person to see this, but unfortunately I am the first to blog about it which leads this poor, humble, podcaster...with nice hair to believe that something is a miss here. I just can not quite put my finger on it. Let's look at this a little closer, shall we? First off...why has no one said anything? I have heard not word one from the guys. Do they know? Do they care that they have been shut out by a female? Where is the passion? Secondly, why have I not heard anything from our fearless, yet ever-so-aggressive leader, Joel, who just so happens to be her husband? I am under no dilusions that Karolyn is perhaps a witch or one with magical powers to persuade and manipulate the minds of the masses into believing this sort of thing is normal. Not at all. I am suggesting that this has all the makings of an Erie, IN tale or something from the Twilight Zone where a small, thin, well-spoken gentleman is about to swiftly change the view of the camera in his direction and with burning cigarette in hand begin to wax poetically about one world being the normal every day life of built on dreams and a matrix of perception, with yet another directly beneath created by one clever young lady with a mission to lead from behind and rule without any the man becoming wise to her game.
Where have your minds gone? Are you all simply hypnotozed by the fact that she is the wife and number one supporter of our youth leader? Here's another thing. She has blonde hair. This is something you might normally see on a lady whom would have complications with removing the wrapper from the gum and then warned by all kind gentleman nearby to watch her step as she walks for she might surely find herself face down on the ground having attempted to accomplish a great feat of walking and chewing in the same motion. But this in no way describes Karolyn, for she intellect far greater than mere mortal man and has calmy and quietly revealed that without us bumbling men catching on. Hmmm? I believe that this is just the begining. I believe that we are on the edge of a gently take-ver from women of another planet...and Karolyn is their Ambassador, their plant, their gatherer of intel. Think about it? Where do we learn the majority of who we are, where we came from as a society, and who we might one day become...that's right! In school? Is she not one of the best and the brightest school teachers in Steuben County? Let alone Northeastern IN? Dare I say...the world? Yes, men. Although I hate to say it, I believe we are on the way out, and what's worse...we let it happen! Numero Uno in Fantasy football...it's not even real football! The most competetive athlete this side of the Mississippi who can watch slow-motion golf like nobody's business can not even compete against his own wife and win. We are surely doomed. We might as well throw on tha apron, hand over the remote, and call it a day.
